ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Kat. I’m an artist and photographer drawn to bright color, playful shapes, folk art, weird things, and the endless beauty of the natural world. I earned my BFA in Illustration from Savannah College of Art and Design, then spent many years working in graphic design creating artwork for brands like Disney, Universal Studios, Hard Rock, Ron Jon Surf Shop, American Girl, Cabela’s, the National Cannabis Industry Association, JCPenney, national park stores, museum gift shops, local governments, nonprofits, small businesses, and more.

These days, I mostly focus on building my own body of work, primarily paintings filled with electric color, folk imagery, botanical elements, and dreamy, chaotic abstraction.

I grew up in Northern Virginia and have lived all over the country, including Santa Fe, NM; Savannah, GA; Asheville, NC; rural Highland County, VA; and most recently Pittsburgh, PA, where I lived for over a decade with my husband, Nick. While there, we created and continue to operate The Burgh Bus. Go Stillers!

In 2026, my family and I returned full-time to Virginia. You can most often find me in my studio, wandering the woods, helping run the historic Visulite Theater in downtown Staunton with Nick, or chasing adventures with our two busy kids and one potato-shaped bulldog ☺
