During Naptime is a collection of paintings created during my youngest daughter's first year of life, mostly while she napped in her crib and a baby monitor crackled in the background of my studio. Made in the fragmented scraps of free time that motherhood allows, these paintings became a way to carve out much-needed space for my own creativity, grief, healing, and joy. My older daughter often joined me in the studio, making art of her own, helping choose an even brighter color, and providing unsolicited critique along the way :) Together, those small moments accumulated into something larger than I imagined: a body of work that allows my inner child to sing out alongside my daughters', with a little help from some very loud colors!
